It’s a fact that some motor races are more prestigious than others. But what makes these particular motor races stand out above the rest? This is because by taking part and more importantly winning in these races brings the fame and accolades that any racer would desire. Many accomplished racers have always credited their success from these races. The following are the top 5 prestigious races in the world.


24 Hours of Le Mans

Ask any racer about their aspirations to conquer the heights of motor cross racing and the answer would be to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This race, first held in 1923 is the most prestigious as far as racing is concerned. It has also become a place where car manufacturers can showcase their latest racing machines and associated technology.


Monaco Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix first held in 1929 also takes a slot among the top five prestigious races. This race is held on the most celebrated circuit with a view of the yacht-filled harbor and magnificent features like a tunnel and the Fairmont Hotel hairpin.


24 Hours of Nurburgring

Equally prestigious, this race is always a tough test to the car and driver alike. Any racer who has won the 24 Hours of Nurburgring is considered a top champion. It features as many as 200 cars with the event going for a 24-hour period.


Isle of Man TT

It was first held in 1907 when British laws forbade road racing on the mainland. Motorbike riders on this race mostly love the adrenaline rush that comes with exceeding speeds of 200mph along narrow race tracks.


Monte Carlo Rally

The prestige that comes with winning the Monte Carlo Rally is the fact that the driver has to endure unfavorable and unpredictable weather conditions. It was first held in the year 1911 and is mostly famous for the drive through the snow covered and twisting mountain routes of Col De Turini.

Other equally prestigious races held in high esteem by racers include Bathurst 1000, Belgium Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500.
